Slow Cooker No Bean Chili

A big pot of chili is one of my favorite "go to" recipes that I like to make in the cold winter months.

I love chili!

All kinds of chili!

White bean chili, chicken chili, chili with beans, chili with venison, chili with no meat. You name it, if there is a bowl of chili out there my name is on it!

And, I like my chili with crackers. Crackers with butter on the top. I take my buttered crackers and dip them in the my chili, making sure to get a big heaping scoop of chili goodness on my crackers.

Of course you can eat this chili with bread or even cornbread too.

One of my children is a picky eater (to say the least) and in her vocabulary the word "bean" is a bad word. The other day she asked me if I could make chili with no beans this time.

So no bean chili it was because, well, because I wanted some crackers with butter to go with it.

Sorry…couldn't resist going back to those buttered crackers!

This recipe only has 5 ingredients. Ground beef is browned and crumbled on the stove-top, drained and added to the slow cooker. Toss in a packet of chili seasoning mix (or use our Homemade Chili Seasoning recipe), tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and some water. And let your chili simmer for 6 to 7 hours (you can go longer on this recipe if you need to too…nothing here is going to get over cooked if you need an "all day" recipe that needs to cook 8, 9, 10 hours…

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Use Ground Turkey In This Recipe?

If you would like to use another type of meat other than the ground beef used in this recipe you can easily substitute your other favorite ground meats such as:
– Turkey
– Chicken

Do You Drain The Canned Tomatoes Before Adding Them To The Slow Cooker?

In this recipe the whole contents of the can of tomatoes is used without draining off the excess liquid first. Just simply open the can and dump it in.

Can I Add Other Flavorings And Seasonings?

This recipe, as written, is a simple basic kid-friendly chili recipe without a lot of spice or heat. If you want to add additional seasonings or flavors to your chili you can customize this recipe by adding things like diced onion, minced garlic, diced jalapeno pepper and/or chili powder.

Use this recipe as a base and make it your own!

What Brand Of Chili Seasoning Is Keto Diet Friendly?

This recipe as written is very keto friendly, however finding a store-bought brand of chili seasoning that is not full of carbs can be difficult. That being said, I have found the Gold Strike Chili Mix Packets to be a tasty brand to use if you are on the Keto diet. But because I live in a pretty smallish town in Wyoming this brand is not easily found locally. So I usually just make my own homemade chili seasoning mix because then, I know exactly what is in it.
